Over the course of two nights, visitors were invited to deliver a message in person to the artists, one by one, inside the empty theatre of the Sydney Opera House. The sole request was that each participant’s message should begin with the words: "AND IN THE END…" Visitors were free to interpret this request in any way they wished.
Once communicated to the artists, their messages were relayed to the world during a continuous broadcast, live-streamed online at andintheend.sydneyoperahouse.com
. At the same time, their words were beamed out via a 60-metre-long LED display installed on the outside of the Opera House, visible across the harbour.
